Katie and Alex, Manassas Virginia Wedding Photographer

Wow...just...wow!

Katie and Alex married June 4, 2011

I don't know where to begin with these two.  I have so much to say and so many beautiful images to share that I have to take a deep breath and just start from the beginning.  In fact, I feel a second blog coming up about their engagement session.

Where better to start than with images of Katie getting ready.

If I could fly it in the sky, it might express the enthusiasm I have inside, about the the way these two looked at each other ALL DAY LONG!  Alex looks at Katie like he's on the cover of a romance novel and Katie looks at Alex like he's her knight in shining armor.  I have seen couples look at each other like this before, in a loving moment, a fleeting glance but never ALL DAY LONG!  By the time this day was through I was in love with them being in love.  Just look and see!

They couldn't contain the smiles and that makes me smile.

He just can't keep his eyes off of his beautiful bride.

Alex and Katie had their reception at Foxchase Manor in Manassas Virginia.  I love this location for a reception.  It's gorgeous and holds a lot of ideal portrait settings; tall arched windows, red walls, mirrors, columns, lighting, and an outdoor patio area.

Their first dance to "The Only Exception" by Paramore.

The reception was decorated in blue and white accented with delicate little humming birds.

Flower bouqets and center pieces were created by Flower Gallery of Manassas.

Katie and Alex choose a cake from Happy Eatery in Manassas owned and operated by Victoria Wu.  I photographed the grand opening at their Manassas location.  I could not help but walk away with a box full of delicious cupcakes and pastries after photographing them all day long.  Highly recommended.

Believe it or not, there were other people at this wedding. I was just infatuated with the love between the bride and groom.

The music was great at the wedding.  The Disc Jockey took rock music and played the songs in a rendition of classical music.  It was amazing.  In fact, I just emailed Katie and asked her for some of the songs.  I've never heard anything like it.  Great job by Mike Biller "DJ Mike"

Katie sits here waiting for Alex to remove her garter, so beautiful.

Here they are again, looking as if there is not another soul around them.  I love these images.  You can feel the love.

What better way to end a perfect day than a sunset series.

Alex and Katie, thank you for an amazing day, for selecting us to honor it in these images.  You are a beautiful couple and I wish you all the love and happiness life offers.  In good times and bad, look back at this day and remember the abundance of love you have for one another.

Oshila and Jared, Woodbridge, VA Wedding Photographer

Oshila and Jared were married at Harbour View in Woodbridge Virginia.  Oshila and I spoke quite a bit before her wedding, but we never actually met until the day of.  It meant a lot to me that she had confidence in my work without even meeting each other first.

As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by her, her sisters, mother and grandmother.  They were kind and welcoming.  After saying hello, I got to work on capturing Jared and Oshila's very special day.

Oshila's dress is one of my favorite dresses.  It's elegant yet simple allowing the bride to shine.

Oshila's grandmother was so sweet to me.  At dinner she insisted many times that we have a meal and be taken care of.  She must have checked three times to make sure we ate.  She reminded me of my own grandmother.  Then as I left that evening she gave me a vase of flowers from the wedding.  It was hard to be gracious because I know that I am there to work but I could sense that it was important to her, a part of who she was.  The women in Oshila's family passed to each other a caring heart.  From Grandmother, to daughter to granddaughter.

Here are some of my favorite portraits from Jared and Oshila's wedding.

Once we were done with the portraits, it was time for the party!

Their cake was beautiful and kept with the theme of her dress, elegant simplicity.

Something that stood out to me at this wedding was Jared's parents, Tony and Cindy.  They were like a couple that just got married. They looked at each other with love and adoration, danced like it was their first and last dance.  You could see that their love has been lasting.  As I watched them, I wished the same everlasting love and admiration between Jared and Oshila.  I hope to one day see them at their children's wedding dancing just like these two.

The evening ended before we knew it but their life together has just begun.  Jared and Oshila, I wish you a successful journey through life and most importantly, your marriage.  Thank you for allowing me to capture such an important celebration of your love.
